Dear Nigeria

Dear Nigeria,

My heart bleeds for you.

My heart bleeds especially for your youth--the children, the future lawyers, doctors and engineers of

the land that is you.

The heart of Africa is what they used to call you.

But your heartbeat is growing faint as the days, months and years progress...

You are hanging on to life by the skin of your teeth.

You are slipping away and with every haggard breath

and every bone rattling cough, your time is running out.

Your leaders are raping you... raping you of all your natural resources

and you are trying to recover, trying to get back on your feet and try once more

The youth are being robbed of a potentially bright future

.
The discrepansy between the rich and the poor are too obvious to ignore.

You are dying a slow painful death.

Your citizens are tired of you & so they go,leaving your shores by the millions. To another man's land, confused and alone, longing for the familiarity of' home'.

They would rather claim citizenship of a foreign land, than deal with you and the trouble you cause them.

They get rid of that green passport like they are running from the black plague.

Can't you see what is happening?!

Dear Nigeria,

I hope you get better soon and when you do, I will be right by your side, guiding you to greatness that

the world once held you to.

6 kinds of Naija guys

After going to a movie premiere last sarruday ( for a nollywood film even though it was shot here in the land of milk and honey)  there was an after party...and after obeserving some of the naija men there -- almost half of the men there were married...but they weren't "chearring, just having some fun" in the words of one married man who left his wife with their baby @ home to go have some much needed 'fun'...lwkmd... ive come up with a list of the 6 kinds of Naija guys I saw @ the parry..just for fun :)

1. THE JJC

The JJC thinks he has it going on, he looks like he came straight out of a 50 'cents' video with his du rag and fake chains. His speech is litered with words like 'nagga' and 'thas wozzop' and 'woz good bish'. Hes the guy that follows you around the whole entire night talking about " Hey baby/angel, you looking soo beauriful and take-away and I haf been trying to let you know that I like you, but it seems like you don't want to list-ten. Him just opening his mouth is enough for any woman to run farrrr away..

2.CORRECT GUY

Everything about this guy is too correct...from his clothes to his shoes to his cologne. He drives a nice car

Lives in his own apartment and either goes to school or has a job.
Hes respectful and proves that chivalry is definately not dead.

3.THE ENTREPRENRUR

This guy can sell cds/dvds,t-shirts, (or even beer sef )from the back of his car  or ship 100 pairs of shoes to Nigeria  and call himself a 'bizzy-ness 'man.

4. THE HIP HOP ARTIST/ACTOR

This one is the funniest of them all. He is the next d'banj, terry g, and Ramsey Noah all rolled up into one. He promotes his cds/dvds everywhere he goes, it doesnt matter where. His trademarks are: mohawk haircut, 'bling', and kanye sunglasses...which are all apart of his 'swagg'.

5. THE MARRIED MAN

(I just had to do it!) This man is married obviously, but tries to talk to every Chioma,Efe,Marquisha and Sarah that he sees even with a wedding band  blatantly on his left ring finger. He can try to sleep with anything that has a pair of breasts and a skirt as long as the female in question is anywhere from 14-35. The man is so bold that he can be with his wife and kids and STILL try to get another woman's number...if thats not  sick and unbelievable idk what is..lmao

6. THE PLAYER

This guy has 'man whore' written all over him. He has like 5 chicks on the side THEN one main 'girlfriend' and is even planning a wedding back in Nigeria with his lovely 'fiance' who already has 2.5 children with him. His game is weak yet women flock to him like flies to sh!t....this kind of man is NOT my portion oo!! not mine or any of the other ladies here on blogsville...and same for the guys who come across a woman like this man!

7. THE CORRECT MARRIED MAN ( this is for myne)

This particular man is married and also a correct guy, a shaaaappp guy. He takes care of his wife and children. He has a decent job and hes faithful. He still treats his wife like a new bride & he doesnt have wandering eyes( i didnt see this kind of  man at the premiere but i know they exist! LOL)

A Valentine's Day filled with regret.

73 % of the people who buy flowers/candy on Valentines day are men.
1 billion people will receive cards today &

of those 1 billion teachers get the most, followed by children, mothers and wives.

first off: A big THANK YOU, to everyone who comments on my blog. I truly appreciate all the funny, insightful & truthful comments!!For those wondering about Azumi, yes he's a real person. I'm not in a relationship with him. I am being extremely cautious...still trying to figure out who he is. I know its not wise to let imagination and fantasy get the best of you but I thought it would be 'interesting' to write about him.

Its Valentine's day and to me its another Sunday. I'm here in my brothers dorm room watching that show 'cheaters' lmao its like a marathon or something. My brother's gf couldnt make it, and my brother left for PA  this morning for his game on Monday. I didn't get home till 3am this morning, we were with my brothers two goofy friends who kept us entertained throughout the night and morning. They took us to a bar/grille ( I dont drink but I wasnt trying to stay in my brothers dorm all night) called " Thirsty dog" lmao...maka gini?  I kuku got up and left, ah ah the place com fullll with oyinbo grls den like 10-15 black guys here and there, mostly athletes. Then the way everyone was dancing was on completely different level..like they were having convulsions or seizures...

I don't mean to be negative on the day of  love, but I got to thinking about some of the things I regret doing and let happen. I beat myself up about it just simply thinking about it. I don't know if it was because of  my brothers room mates all starting their Valentine's day early, with their 'girlfriends' or lady-friends and closing their doors & leaving the rest of us to our tainted imaginations. It just made me think that I never want to be 'that girl' going to a guy's place and shutting the door and being used  temporarily to feed some guys lust. It took me back to Leksai ( Olu), I mean I would go to his place, knowing in the back of my mind that it was wrong and knowing in the back of my mind that he wouldn't listen to me if I told him not to 'touch me' lest we went further than intended. Although we didn't have sex,  we were close to it.  I felt like a toy and after  the whole "relationship" I felt stupid. This what he told me the last time we talked when he said he had a confession to make: " when I was with her, I was thinking of you"...who says that? How can you have been thinking of me when you are blind with lust and your feeding your flesh? And after his 'confession' he said we were NOT together, but I can clearly remember him saying that we were way before this 'confession'.I don't know I just don't understand the way some guys are. The thing that gets me that most is he acts like nothing happened. He lies a lot and acts like hes not in the wrong. He can never admit to something being wrong whether it was him or his friends or something in general. He loved manipulating my feelings. I can remember one day where he was one the phone with a girl-friend. He said something like "Yea you have a big ass". He was obviously trying to get a reaction out of me, because when I got mad about it ( and I'm not a jealous person at all but for him to say something like that was wrong) he asked me "Why are you mad, was it because of what I said? " instead of initially saying sorry he says " thats the way I talk with my friends, even if they are girls". I said " So would you like it if I said ' oh you have such nice abs/biceps" to a male friend? He said no, or something to that effect.

I hate repeating things on here, but I felt I had to. It was on my mind and I felt I should write it down. Applications for the colleges I'm applying are fast approaching.I've been feeling down way before this  and the stress of school work/applications doesn't help. I don't like feeling like this.

Happy Valentine's Day.

A z u m i

The letter A is for Azumi. A Z U M I.
The man who I am slowly submitting my heart and soul to.
Just looking at him feeds my senses. His tall stature. His face, handsome but not overly pretty.
His eyes, a buttery golden color and his skin like waves of grain.
His smell is masculine and strong, all the while leaving me on the highest cloud imaginable and  swooning in its wake. His touch makes me quiver, like the accidental brush of fingers between two young lovers, electrifying yet tender and behind every one I feel like hes really saying ' I love you'. His voice is like a melody flowing freely and passionately on a stream of whispers and sweet and sincere nothings.
He calls me his 'mata' and I smile that kool-aid smile and stare at him. He is beautiful and so I stare.
He draws closer to me, and our lips have minds of their own. They touch fiercely yet gently, melting into one another like the sugar in my tea. He is the sugar in my tea, the tea of my sugar. The sugar that makes my tea sweet. His lips have my body soaring to new heights never known to man. Each kiss has my blood relentlessly  reaching its boiling point. Feeding our flesh isnt an option, so we force the desire within us to restrain itself  and awaken when the commitment of our love is authenticated before Him....

fastfood &&valentine's day

Me and fastfood dont  mix from here on out. I wont go near it again, lai lai. I got food poisoning. I dont know, I guess it serves me right after years of my mother saying " all this fast food is not good o!!". My eye don clear, I wont touch it again walahi talahi. This past Friday was the worst day of my life. I was vomiting and in bed all day. I have learnt my lesson for sure!!

On a lighter note, my plans for Valentine's day is secured...provided that my brother cleans his nasty room...so after my brothers game on saturday  we're heading to his school  for that long weekend ( no school on the monday after..Presidents day) and I'm bringing lots of hand sanitizer and I will wear my flip flops all around his dorm/apt. and in the shower...him and his rmmates never clean so I gotta take xxxtraaaaa precautions lmao. It should be nice, his girlfriend is coming that weekend too, so we'll all go to dinner ( yea what a way to kill the romance, cuz we're tagging along!! ) and head home on monday afternoon/night. Our dear cousin isnt coming along for the weekend he says hes going to see a friend ( this "friend" is a male oo!) on Valentines day...hmmm when I'm thru with my detective work his eye will clear!!

I've started writing again. I've got toooo many topics to choose from. My cousin who lives in the UK started encouraging me to get back in it...(and hes a fantabulous writer) so I'm going to be writing my ideas down in a notebook. Topics I write about could be about everything from the discrepancies between the rich and the poor in Nigeria or the state of black America..who knows? But the topic I'm itching to write about is Nigeria's currant state. Nigeria is dying, it is hanging on by a thread and its leaders are trying to keep her  drugged up, & unconscious instead of  resuscitating her and making use of her resources to make her strong.

everything is confammmedd! lol

stilltrill.comHow you doin ( wendy voice lmao)
I dont feel like eating healthy so im eating anything with the word 'fast in it' and anything i dont hv to get out of the car to order and eat...yea forgeddaboutit!!

These past few months ive become enlightened. I've learned a lot about dating and life in itself. I learned that the dating process doesnt always have to go like : meet him or her, get 'talking', go on a couple of dates and have sex. I learned that its really a process( aquaintance, friendship, courting, engagement & marriage) that He wants us to enjoy and at this point ( yea at 19) I cant date someone who i know I wont get married to ....whats the point  though? with all the sex the media  promotes which kind of guy would date a girl whos not willing to put out? ...when I heard the song " No sex" by still trill- how u doin ( wendy voice) ( the 4 group black christian artists) i was really surprised, they made good modern music that people of all ages can listen to without being offended...i would rather have my  13 or 14 yr old cousins singing  'no sex' than 'shake that laffy taffy' lol. But these 4 men in the group still trill are good looking men who are spreading the word about saying no to sex until marriage which I think is inspiring especially for young people who are sort of lost in a society practically obsessed with sex. Theyve made mistakes themselves in the past so its not like they are preaching about it, 2 of them got STDS,due to premarital sex and the other was involved in a gang, and they are using their own lives as a testimony, hearing their story was also inspiring because ppl think that once they have messed up there is no hope but there is!!!!. So yea they are positive rappers... check them out at
stillrill

ummm so yea valentines day is on its way. I dont have plans and I never really cared about the 'day of love' wetin consain me? I dont have a lover and I'm not a mushy lovey dovey type person, so i guess even if i did have a lover i wouldnt really be into it. I will go to church and go home, relax watch some naija movies....the next day theres no class ( president's day) so theres nothin else to do...

I turn twennnnrrryyy in a few months. I have mixed feelings abourritt. I will no longer be a teenager...I will however be inclined to look at teenagers and  feel a great sense of joy that i am no longer apart of the drama and immaturity associated with being a teenager lol...but hey I'm happy and grateful to Him for giving me  19/20 years!! I'm not sure how to celebrate it. party? BBQ? club? ( yea right) indoor skydiving? road trip?

You know it looks like im going to be in school for a loooonnnnggg time. Its confammmmmeddd ,Ive decided to pursue a JD/MD degree. I'm not totally sure how to go about it, as in im not sure if  I start working on that degree right after my bachelor degree or? I'll figure it out sha.

Some things I feel some Nigerian parents should realize:

1. the fact that their children want to marry white, black americans, asians or hispanics or in other words anyone who is not Igbo lol. If you have/raise  your children  somewhere other than Nigeria, yes they will noticed other ppl of other races and ultimately marry that person. Our parents can shout about it to the high chief, the main chief, our grandparents, our siblings and whoever but what will be will be! Even the ones wey dem born for naija and move abroad, dem dey marry white, hispanic etc...(.once dem c oyinbo girls, dem be like pikin wey dey for candy store sef.)

2. Their children dont want to be doctors, lawyers, accountants, engineers. Theres really no promise that college kids will get a job right after graduation and start making good money right away ( recession or not)

3.Their children not knowing their native language is their own fault

HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEK AHEAD everyone

onose.
